About
Sofia Reis Sept 26
I am Sofia Reis, a Community Architect, Relational Leadership Guide, Community Building Mentor and Human Design Coach.
I help coaches, facilitators and purpose-led space holders create communities where people feel safe enough to show up, speak up and participate. My work is rooted in a simple belief: community becomes alive when people stop being treated as an audience and begin recognising that their presence, perspective and contribution matter.
My own life has been shaped by transition. I left the corporate world, built an online business, returned to Portugal after more than two decades in the UK, and had to explore what belonging, leadership and self-trust meant beyond the roles I had known. Those experiences changed how I lead. I became less interested in performing expertise and more interested in creating rooms where honest conversation, experimentation and collective intelligence can emerge.
Today, my work brings together group dynamics, embodied leadership, participation and Human Design. As a 4/6 Self-Projected Projector, I have learned that my clearest contribution often comes through speaking, listening and allowing insight to take shape in relationship with others.
Through the Community Building Lab, I help people work with the real invitations, rhythms, silences and facilitation choices inside the groups they are building. My role is not to dominate the room. It is to hold the structure, ask sharper questions and help people recognise the value they can create together.
Session Details
Day 1
Who is this talk for?
Coaches, facilitators, founders, group leaders, community hosts and curious individuals who want to explore a more relational way of bringing people together. It is especially relevant for anyone who feels responsible for keeping every conversation alive, creates valuable content but sees limited participation, or wants people to connect with one another rather than only with the leader.
What the talk covers
Sofia introduces the A.R.T. of an Alive Community: Awareness, Relational Trust and Togetherness. The session explores the difference between carrying a room and holding the conditions that allow people to participate. Through personal stories, guided reflection and a live participation experiment, participants are invited to notice where they may be filling every silence, providing every answer or creating more content because they do not know what else to do.
Why it matters
A community can look active on the surface and still depend almost entirely on the leader. The session reframes silence, participation and leadership so that value can move between people rather than always coming from one person. It offers a more sustainable, relational way to lead without forcing or performing engagement.
Sofia’s Unique Angle
Sofia combines relational leadership, group dynamics, community practice and lived experience as a 4/6 Self-Projected Projector. Her Human Design perspective informs how she thinks about voice, recognition, invitation and the difference between guiding and carrying. The session is experiential rather than theory-heavy, with participants leaving with something real to test in their own room.
